Rights Respecting School
Linn Primary aims to be a school where every aspect of a child is focused on and developed, including the area of well being. As part of our school’s aims to promote a happy and successful school, we achieved our recognition as a ‘Rights Respecting School’. This is an award which was given to our school on behalf of UNICEF as they appreciated the good work we have been doing towards achieving our goal of being recognised as a Level One Right's Respecting School.
UNICEF is the world’s leading organisation working for children and their rights. These rights are based on what a child needs to survive, grow, participate and fulfil their potential.
The Rights Respecting School award (RRSA) will help our pupils to grow into confident, caring and responsible young citizens both in school and within the wider community. By learning about their rights our pupils, your children, also learn the importance of respecting the rights of others i.e. their responsibilities.
We are now working hard to reach Level 1and will be assessed on Wednesday 30th November. During PDMU lessons and special assemblies the children will continue to work on the articles included in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC).
We really hope that you will be able to support us and your child in working towards our goal of being a ‘Rights Respecting School’. Please do not hesitate to contact the school if you would like to get involved.
